Authentic Brand Storytelling

In this solo episode, I’m jamming about a subject that is near and dear to my heart:

BRAND IDENTITY

I really wanted to do an episode about this, because MANY people who work with me to get zero’d in on their messaging and story as a brand, or to increase their ability to create balance and truly THRIVE as a creative making money — struggle with this.

Specifically, they struggle with understanding what about themselves is interesting, valuable, and unique enough to become a brand that garners the success that they are after.

It’s easy to look at brands that really nail it — like Apple, or Nike… and think you have to be like them. But that’s not always the whole truth. When you’re a small business, online or off, what’s important is that your brand has two components.

  1. It needs to be PERSONAL.
    (so, why does a human being CARE about this?)

  2. And… it needs to be UNIVERSAL.
    (so, far reaching)
